Our hardwood logs are all air-dried for at least 14 months prior to sale. This significantly reduces the carbon footprint of our firewood compared to kiln dried logs, making them much better for the environment.
While seasoned logs are air-dried, kiln dried logs are dried in kilns over a number of days, using additional wood and electricity to fuel the kilns. This increases the carbon footprint of firewood production and has a negative impact on the environment.
